So I should start by mentioning the fact that I spend a lot of time in the EB Games by my house for multiple reasons. Those reasons being the people who work there are awesome people and we are friends, and also because after work in the week I usually have NOTHING to do all night. So I decided to kind of be a troll and have some fun at last weeks midnight launch of the Xbox One. I showed up at the store at 7 so I would have time to hangout with the staff before the store closed for an hour at 9. This obviously assured me the spot as first person in line at midnight, and having the Platinum Edge card meant no one could fast pass in front of me either.
By the time midnight came around there was about 20 people in line in the store, and I was so happy to be the first one in line to pick up my items. The only catch and amusing part of this story is, theres no way in hell I am buying an Xbox One. So why wait in line at the midnight launch you ask? Because I was picking up Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know!, Tearaway, The Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds, and the sexiest 3DS XL Zelda bundle I have ever seen.
There was something oddly satisfying about waiting in line in front of a bunch of people wanting Xbox Ones simple to pick up a pile of Nintendo products and one Sony item. All in all it was a good night and I am very happy with my awesome 3DS XL (which I may or may not have already scratched... DAMNIT).

College Game Development and Gaming Intro
Good Morning Audience,
This is my first official post on Blogger and I hope that I can continue this blog as long as I can.
I am a second year college student that is currently enrolled in the Game Development Program at Durham College. This post will be short, as it is 1am and I'm taking a short break from my ever stressful and constant assignments. I hope to blog about things I care about and future endeavors I have with school and life.
I believe this is a shared blog along with my girlfriend, known as YoungCricket. Together we will blog about interesting facts and opinions that we have about everything gaming and not-gaming related.
Cheers,
JayP0r91

PS4
So to start off this story I need to give a bit of background information on it. First off I turned 23 on November 8th and had been asking my mother for months to "please pre-order me a PS4 for my birthday!" Every week I would bring it up and every time I did she would play dumb and say "a what? Remind me later I can't now." Now knowing my mother I had a glimmer of hope that she had, in fact preordered the PS4 and was going to play dumb and surprise me for my birthday! Unfortunately I learned this was false when a week before, when I bring it up again, she says to me that she honestly has no idea what I'm talking about and had not preordered anything, she couldn't even remember it was called a PS4... At this point the preorders are pushed back far enough that I wont get my hands on one until after Christmas and probably the new year, so I decide to give up and ask for something else and accept the fact that I will have to buy my own sometime in the new year.
Now after my birthday passed and the PS4 is getting so much closer, my mother starts seeing it in all of the flyers coming out and says to me "you know, everyone has it in their flyer. If its in the flyer it has to be available and I am sure you will be able to find it somewhere." So November 15th happens and I go into EB knowing I have no chance of getting one but I decided to troll my employee friends by asking (because I know they've already gotten that question a hundred times that day) and sure enough they only have preordered ones available.
November 16th. My mother has errands to run and I have nothing better to do so I decide to go with her. The day before, and that morning she was saying how we would be going to Walmart and it was in the flyer so she is sure they'll have one in stock! So I tell her, just to humour her I will go to the electronic section, ask them if they have one, and if they don't laugh at me and actually have one I will buy it right then and there. I get to the electronic section, finally find someone to ask and what response do I get?! "Haha yeah right." So I return to my mother and tell her exactly what I thought would happen did, and she finally decides to believe me and stop telling me it will be very easy to find.
Next stop on our day of errands is to stop off at the nail salon... Which also happens to be right behind the only Microplay in the city. When we get there I wanted to go in and see what they have so I tell my mom "I'm going to go ask at Microplay for fun and get laughed at again" and off I go. Here is how the conversation went:
"Hi, can I help you?"
"Hi, I have a question and I'm totally prepared to get laughed at, can you guess what it is?"
"PS4?"
"Haha yep.."
"Yeah we have one."
"Wait, what?"
"Ya someone didn't pick up their preorder and we have one available."
"I wasn't expecting this... But... But now I have to buy it..."
So I miraculously found myself the owner of a PS4, without any preorders or even effort put into finding one, the day after it was released. It happens rarely but sometimes I have the best luck!
